21 Weeks Twin Pregnancy Belly Bump Photo

21 weeks pregnant with twins and still going strong.  Just the other day, I was thinking to myself it’s amazing to think it’s almost spring and we first got pregnant in the late summer/early fall season.  That can only mean we are getting closer to seeing our healthy and happy twins, so exciting!  This week I did have some changes in my belly as it has grown outward and a bit more upward, at least in my opinion.  Additionally some of my symptoms have changed so click ahead to read more about these changes in week 21.

NOTE:  MY PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE VERY END OF EACH WEEK, HENCE THESE TWO PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE START OF WEEK 23.  NORMALLY I TAKE THESE PHOTOS AS I JUST WAKE UP ON SATURDAY MORNING, VERY EARLY, SANS MAKEUP AND HAIR CORRECTIONS. I DO NOT HIDE FROM SHARING MY EXPERIENCES, NOR MY GROWTH PHOTOS. PREGNANCY IS NOT SOMETHING EVERYONE CAN DO, ESPECIALLY A NATURAL TWIN PREGNANCY SO I WANT TO SHARE EVERY LITTLE PIECE OF TRUTH THE ENTIRE PROCESS.  Please ignore the sock change, I realized I had put on pink socks with a red top, gasp!  Additionally I did make a change into maternity leggings however they do not feel very well, maternity clothing is still not made for short people, these sag in places I wish would not and I constantly have to pull them up even though these are the smallest available size that can fit my twin belly.

1st Prenatal Appointment: What to Expect

Tags

Our first pregnancy appointment was a very exciting but nervous appointment, I had never been to an official OB/GYN as my family doctor had always performed my pap smear tests.  So this was new territory for me and my husband.  This was also our first pregnancy, so we were definitely fish out of water at this point in our pregnancy.  Actually at this point, we were only relying on home pregnancy tests to prove we were pregnant, so any confirmation of pregnancy was to be determined.  As I sat waiting for the doctor to call my name, I knew I was going to share my experiences with all of you as it is a bit overwhelming.  Hopefully my experiences will help all of you throughout your pregnancy too.  So on to my experience in Southern California (LA area), the first appointment from a twin pregnancy perspective (not sure if it is the same for singletons).

Twin Gender Reveal

Two weeks now we have known the gender of the twins, however, it has been a whirlwind of sharing the news with family and friends first.  10 weeks ago we found out the gender of one baby from our MaterniT noninvasive genetics test but we were told the gender of the babies were not to be 100% confirmed until week 20.  Thankfully we had our first perinatologist appointment a few days before the start of week 20 so there was no question to the sex of the twins.  Genki Husband and I could not be happier with the twins who are both happy and perfectly healthy.  So today I will announce the gender of our twins below, just click the link.

20 weeks twin pregnancy

20 Weeks along with our vegan twin pregnancy, that’s the 1/2 way point for singletons.  My specialists tell me it is average for twins to be born around 34-36 weeks, induction is always scheduled at 38 weeks, no later.  This might be different in your area however this is what SoCal doctors state in the states.  Follow along with us during our vegan twin pregnancy week 20.

NOTE:  MY PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE VERY END OF EACH WEEK, HENCE THESE TWO PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE START OF WEEK 21.  NORMALLY I TAKE THESE PHOTOS AS I JUST WAKE UP ON SATURDAY MORNING, VERY EARLY, SANS MAKEUP AND HAIR CORRECTIONS. My Thoughts On Having Twins

My Thoughts on Having Twins

First question out of mouths when hearing we are having twins is – “does it run in your family?”  A common question since twins do get passed down through the maternal side of a families’ genes.  Twins do not run in my family though, so it is all new to our entire crew.  In fact when we heard the news, we were totally stunned, even though I kept telling Genki Husband we were going to have twins before our first appointment. And before anyone asks, this was a set of natural twins, no medical intervention.  (aka, it is a complete surprise)  So what are my thoughts of having twins?

Photo: The above photo is the first glimpse of our twins inside the womb.  They were 12 weeks old.  Please do not copy this photo, forward, save, or duplicate in any way.  This is a copyright photo and does have a watermark, hence it can not be used without written and signed permission by me, thanks.

19 weeks twin pregnancy belly bump photoToday I am thrilled to share with you my experience during my 19th week of pregnancy, a vegan twin pregnancy!  This week my symptoms changed a bit and we purchased a new large item for our twins, doing it without assistance from family and friends can be challenging but more rewarding.  If Genki Husband and I can do it, so can you!  Please ignore the change in my belly bump photo shirt, it has turned warm here so a normal long-sleeve shirt was not cutting it anymore.  I changed into a maternity shirt, even though it is an extra-small, it is large on me still.  (Pants too!  Anyone know a petite maternity clothes brand?)  I am sure the twins will fill it out in the next few months of belly bump photos though.  Click on the link to see all that has been going on this week, I love sharing with each and every one of you.

18 week twin pregnancy belly bump

Each week I look back at the last week, this week was week 18, then I think to myself how fortunate and blessed we are to be having such a great pregnancy thus far.  It is hard to believe how fast the whole process goes, in less than a year I will be posting baby photos.  Take a look back with me at the last week of our pregnancy with twins, vegan twins.

Vegan Prenatal Vitamins: Why I chose to go with supplements

Vegan prenatal vitamins

As with everything in life, there is a lot of mixed views on taking daily prenatal vitamins (and postnatal).  There are a lot of vegans out on the blogosphere stating their choice to not go along the supplement path, while the other portion are completely for supplementation.  That’s why today I want to share my opinion and reasoning to give all of you another contrasting view.  A lot of research has been conducted on my part, along with advise from my OB/GYN whom is handling our twin vegan pregnancy.

Note: The photo was taken in 2017, so the bottle appearance may be slightly different than when you go to the stores, depending on the date.  This is not a stock photo.

My Thoughts on Pregnancy Weight Gain

Tags

, , ,

It seems as if one of the main aspects of pregnancy that woman are concerned with is weight gain, especially if having multiples.  My history shows me being overweight and working towards a healthier goal, one that I did achieve through healthy eating and exercise.  There was no starvation, no 1 banana rule for breakfast, and no triple workouts daily.  It did take more than a year to eliminate all of my extra weight, however I was able to keep it off for years to come.  Losing weight is a mindset, not something that can be done overnight.  So when I became pregnant, the elephant in the room was not me, but rather the idea of how I felt of gaining so much weight.  Here’s my opinion:

17 weeks twin pregnancy belly bump

17 weeks!  For a twin pregnancy, this means I have passed the half way mark at 17.5 weeks, since I am posting this in my 18th week.  Twin pregnancies average around 35 weeks, so this means we are 1/2 way there for a healthy birth of our twins.  Not much has changed, besides the appearance of my belly bump (which is a thrill as it means the babies are growing).  From the front, I do not believe many people could tell I am pregnant with twins, from the side on the other hand it is obvious.  This last week we heard from our 16th week blood tests and the nursery furniture finally arrived.  Things are really coming along, we just can not wait until the twins are born healthy and happy.

NOTE:  MY PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE VERY END OF EACH WEEK, HENCE THESE TWO PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE START OF WEEK 18.
