25 Weeks Twin Belly Bump Vegan

Week 25 is upon us, we are so thankful we have made it this far into our multiple pregnancy.  Each day we thank God for another day with them growing healthy and happily in my stomach.  There have been a few more symptoms this week and a few changes in my workout routine, so if you want to find out more information click on this link.

NOTE:  WHEW!  LOOK AT THAT BELLY!  LOVE IT so much!  I can’t stop looking at these days things there are two humans growing inside of it.  THESE PHOTOS ARE COPYRIGHT PROTECTED, YOU MUST HAVE WRITTEN AND SIGNED PERMISSION FROM ME TO POST OR SHARE IN A REPOST ON ANOTHER SITE.  ALL PHOTOS ARE TAKEN EARLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEXT WEEK, SANS MAKEUP AND ANY SPECIAL HAIR TREATMENT.  PREGNANCY MAKES A WOMAN SO GORGEOUS, I FULLY EMBRACE EVERY SECOND OF MY APPEARANCE DURING THIS TIME.

Month Due: June 2017

Twins Gender: Boy/Girl

Food: Food preferences have not really changed much throughout my entire double pregnancy.  There are woman I hear stories from who get this insatiable appetite in their second trimester however I have still not encountered this change.  But, I have changed my preferences to more salads and fresh, uncooked greens instead of cooked soups.  This happens each year around the change into spring season though, so no big difference in accordance to being pregnant.  Right now I am waiting for the price of watermelons to decrease, that’s my main goal for food right now.  (Again, always an addiction this time of year.)

Cravings: Not really a big change in any direction, just normal seasonal changes.  My main goal when eating is protein and nutrients from veggies, reducing carbs and fat.  I guess if I had to chose something I would choose watermelon.

Aversions: Nothing still…

Prenatal Vitamins:  Deva Prenatal Vitamins, Solgar Vegan Prenatal Folic Acid supplement and Vegan DEVA DHA.  All of my supplements are plant-based and 100% vegan, no fake ingredients.

Symptoms: Things are going rather well in this direction still too, I am sure in the next few weeks I will be crying a different story.  My Braxton Hicks contractions have gone down to around maybe 3-4 a day, depending on what I am doing.  Normally I have them when I am sitting too long or have taken into too much food/water all at once.  It is acceptable to have up to 4 an hour though, so I am not where near that count.  Another new symptom is my breathing has started to feel a bit more restricted due to the twins growing nice and strong.  My height is 4’ 11” so this is only to be expected from here on to delivery in June, so no worries.  Other than these few symptoms, I can just say my skin is feeling very tight and my stomach grows just about daily.  I love watching it grow though, it just resembles the growth the twins are up taking at each moment.  It’s a blessing to gain weight now!

Milestones: Reaching week 25 is just a blessing itself with twins.  We are so thankful our twins, thus far, are growing perfectly and they get grande reviews each time I go to a doctors office visit.  They are both moving so much now, I can usually tell what they are doing in their movements so it is very fun to experience as a mother-to-be.

I’m Excited About:  There are so many things which excitement for this experience of a lifetime.  Something I really enjoy doing is wearing tighter shirts and showing off my twin belly, it surprises people all the time.  My body has not gained too much weight, just my mid-section so I am very thankful.  It is fun hearing people ask the gender of the ‘baby’ and I mention both – very fun to watch the expression on their faces as they figure out we are having twins.

I’m Nervous About: Although I have been given the green light from my doctors for the safety of the twins and a pre-term labor with my cervix length, I am always going to be nervous.  My body is build small  so the weight of the growing babies can be a strain on my cervix, so I have to be very careful from here on out with what I do. With my anxiety of my cervix lowering again, I have no issues taking it easy.  Plus, I have heard if you take it easy your babies will grow better too.  So for now I take it easy on couch potato rest and await each measurement report at our specialist appointment.

Exercise:  My OB/GYN has given me permission to do light exercise such as prenatal yoga, pilates and also light weight lifting of 6lbs.  I am not allowed to do too much each day though.  So, my main form of exercise right now is carrying around these adorable twins.  For now I have a belly band and am wearing this when I plan on being on my feet for a longer period of time such as cooking or walking around the grocery store.

Other thoughts and feelings:  We are still feeling so blessed to be having twins.  It is funny since near the start, our thoughts were of anxiety, however now we can’t imagine just having one baby at a time.  With just over 2 months left, we can not wait until the twins are healthy and big enough to be born into this world when our lives will change for the better forever.

Note:  If you have any suggestions for a twin pregnancy, I would love to hear your comments.  Or just anything in general, advice is always accepted and appreciated.  Books and medical professionals can only give so much information, personal experience is sometimes much better than anything else.
