Tons of tartar sauce recipes are out there but so far I have not seen any that are actually vegan. Thanks to Gardein’s Fishless Filets now available in Target stores around the nation, I needed to test out a new recipe idea for all of you Genki Friends. It might sound like I sponsor Gardein lately, but really there is no connection because my love for their meatless products and the fact that everything is vegan and easily available in small towns like the one we are in right now. (Recipe Below)
1 tsp Lemon Juice 1 tsp Distilled White Vinegar 1 c Vegan Approved Mayonnaise (I used Just Mayo!) 1 tsp Prepared Yellow Mustard (aka, the stuff you put on vegan sausages) 2 tsp Sweet Pickle Relish Pinch of Salt Mix all together and there you have a delicious yellow tartar sauce.
*We had a few tablespoons left over the next day so we decided to go ahead and toss it with some Organic Mixed Greens and it was delicious! So go ahead and use it as a salad dressing too – it’s a bit sweet and savory.
