We’re Home! It’s been over a week since we left for an adventure that took us to a Japanese wedding in Hawaii. My Japanese sister got married to a wonderful man and we all took flight and flew to Hawaii for a week to catch up with the family and attend the ceremony that would unite these two wonderful people. Congratulations again Eri and Kengo! Thanks for letting us crash your Japanese tours and wedding!

Somehow this was our first trip to the island state and we could not have been happier to have had this chance. It was our intention to stay as much vegan as possible and put in as many hours into our shoes as possible, boy were we pushed to our limits at times but we are thankful to kept with our goals. There were a couple non-vegan fish onigiri’s (Japanese Rice Balls) but somehow we managed to stay vegan most of the time while staying on the island of Oahu.

Our stay included our hotel at the Holiday Inn Beachcomber Resort (mainly Japanese tourist stay here) which was supposed to be on Waikiki Beach but we found out when we arrived it was about a 10-20 minute walk to the beach front. We paid a large added extra expense to get a “full ocean full balcony room” that ended up being partial view and really quiet loud seeing as our room looked over the International Marketplace. This did not detour us though, we pushed along and got out to spend 497 miles (as the Budget car rental lady gasped in shock) in our rental Jeep.

In the next few days I hope to include a few restaurant reviews, tour guide information and some general knowledge to entertain you all and hopefully encourage you to go there too. If you have any questions about Oahu, please let me know, I would love to answer your questions as we drove the entire island and saw hundreds of things during our stay. For now, Aloha!
