Plum Applesauce Recipe

Plums are in season at the moment in Ohio and we couldn’t be more excited. These tart little fruits can be very pricy throughout the year but for a short bit of time, farmers will sell you plums for a reasonable price. Thankfully we found some Stanley Plums for around $3.00 for 2 lbs. Hooray! As I was driving the car home, I was very quiet because a million ideas were rumbling around in my head of what to do with these wonderful little purple treats. My mind got wrapped around making plum applesauce and since then I couldn’t get it out of my mind. So, today I tried my hand at making this beautiful purple applesauce that I hope everyone will enjoy.
2 lbs apple, peeled, cored and diced
1 1/2 lbs plums, diced (no need to peel)
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c water
1 tbsp lemon zest
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1. Toss everything into a small soup pot on the stove on a high-heat. Bring it to a boil.
2. After it has reached a boil, turn it down to a simmer and place the cover over the top.
3. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the apples are soft enough for a fork to go through easily.
4. Pour the mixture into a food processor and give it a got whirl until it reaches the consistency you like your applesauce.
5. Pour the hot applesauce into sealable jars and you have yourself homemade plum applesauce.

I believe that is something you have to ask wordpress. If I knew I would love to assist you but I’m not really sure how to correct that issue. I looked for a solution but wasn’t able to find the answer for you on my side. Sorry. Let me know if you figure it out though, thanks. So sorry about the confusion, wish there were more that I could do.
